Do you think that steroids will cure your eczema? If you do, you are wrong. Steroids will only treat your eczema symptoms. And they can have a bunch of nasty side effects, like glaucoma, hypertension, weight gain, and thinning of the skin, just to name a few. Conventional doctors will tell you there is no cure for eczema. They are wrong, too. If you define “cure” as putting your eczema into permanent remission, then yes, there is a cure.
It’s fairly common knowledge that sensitivity to toxins in the environment and allergies can cause eczema. You stay away from chemicals you may be sensitive to and avoid allergens, especially food allergens, but you still suffer eczema flare ups. What you may not know is that your body is internally polluted from years of exposure to toxins. When you eat conventionally farmed produce and animals, you are ingesting minute amounts of the pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, and antibiotics that are given to these plants and animals. These toxins aren’t all excreted from your body. Small amounts are retained in your cells and continue to build up over time, compromising your health.
If you eat much processed food, not only are you adding to the chemical load in your body, you are also depriving yourself of proper nutrition. Most of the nutritional vitamins and minerals have been processed out of these foods. You are undernourished, no matter how much you weigh. Between the toxins accumulating in your body and the lack of nutrition, you probably aren’t as healthy as you think you are, and that is reflected in the eczema on your skin.
The first step in your eczema cure is to detoxify your body. This will flush the toxins from your cells and out of your body. There are detox products available in reputable health food stores, or you could opt to have a naturopathic doctor help you with your cleanse. Whichever way you decide to go, follow the instructions to the letter. You will find that you feel pretty miserable the first few days of the cleanse. This is normal. It occurs because the toxins that have built up over time in minute amounts are now being flushed from your body in relatively large amounts and your body is reacting to these poisons. After a few days you will start to feel better.
The next step is to change your diet. Eat organic produce and animals raised on organic diets, without hormones and antibiotics. Eat your produce raw if possible to get the maximum amount of natural nutrients, but in any case, process or cook your food as little as possible. Don’t eat processed foods, white flour (it is heavily processed), and don’t drink soft drinks.
The new diet may seem strange to you at first, but as you adjust to it and as you find yourself feeling better and better, it will be easier to follow. Looking back, you’ll probably be surprised at how bad you felt and you didn’t even know it. On top of that, you will find your eczema flare ups and symptoms becoming less and less until they finally disappear. Then you will understand that you can truly cure eczema without steroids.

This is an absolutely wonderful take on Eczema for sure! We have dealt with all of this and so much more since our son was a baby and we went through all kinds of doctors, meds, creams and even oral steroids. He became steroid dependent at two years old and it was very scary. It is NOT a solution at all. It is just as you said, a dangerous cover up of the real problem. We were fortunate enough to be able to wean him off and start natural remedies! We do many of the things you suggested and have found our miracle in giving him a children’s chewable probiotic. We found Bellyboost for kids and he not only loves them but they work! He started clearing up dramatically within the first week of taking them and has been nearly free of his Eczema now for a whole year. They are amazing and I cannot say enough great things about this for others who have this awful skin condition!!!
