People with sensitive skin are vulnerable to allergic reactions and breakouts. It can be caused by both environmental and genetic factors. Other causes that can lead to this type of skin condition include exposure to excessive heat or cold, stress, and certain underlying skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, urticaria, and allergic contact dermatitis. If your skin has low tolerance for certain things like detergents, cosmetics, environmental changes like too much heat or too much cold, and sunlight, it means that you have sensitive skin.

Fortunately, there are some home remedies available for sensitive skin. People with sensitive type skin are recommended to use mild soaps and liquid cleansers that have low pH levels. Avoid using anti-bacterial soaps to wash your skin. Switch to a toner that does not contain any alcohol, petrochemicals, or fragrances. Also, use fragrance-free detergents to wash your clothes and linens. Choose hypoallergenic skincare products that do not include any fragrances, coloring agents, or alcohol. Remember that even essential oil fragrances and natural coloring agents can cause irritation for sensitive type skin. It is also better not to use hot water to shower or wash your face.

Heading out into the sun? wear a sun block that has a SPF of at least 15. Drink plenty of water everyday, hydration is very important. Diet is also one among the important home remedies. Make sure to eat a balanced diet that includes fresh vegetables and fruits. Rosewater can be used to tone and cleanse normal and oily sensitive skins. Evening primrose oil is also good for sensitive skin. You can take it both externally and internally. Both almond oil and jojoba oil are effective cleansers for this type of skin. Mix grapefruit juice and oatmeal together to make a paste and use it as a scrub to exfoliate your skin.

If shaving leaves you with irritated skin, apply aloe vera gel to the affected area. It is also effective to cure skin rashes. Yogurt is one of the best home remedies for sensitive skin. Apply yogurt over your face, let it remain there for a few minutes, and then rinse it off. Mix one cup of yogurt with a half cup of oatmeal. Apply this mixture on your face for at least fifteen minutes and then wash it away. Honey can be used as a facial for sensitive skin. Warm some honey and rub it all over your face. Let the honey sit on your face for at least fifteen minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water.

Mix two tablespoons of avocado oil, one tablespoon of rose clay, one drop of Roman chamomile essential oil, and one drop of rose essential oil. If necessary, add some water to make a paste. Spread this mixture on your face and wait until it becomes dry. Use warm water to rinse your face. This facial mask is recommended as one of the home remedies for sensitive skin. An oatmeal and egg yolk mask is also excellent for sensitive skin. Ground some uncooked oatmeal and mix it with the yolk of an egg. Apply this paste on your face, wait for fifteen minutes, and then wash it off with warm water.

Everlasting beauty is more than what you do to the outside of your skin. All the cosmetics, lotions and potions of the world cannot cleanse, cover or conceal unhealthy skin. They cannot make skin look youthful and radiant. So what can you do easily and at home?

Aging is the accumulation of various adverse changes in our cells and tissues. Free radicals are believed to contribute to the aging process. How we age individually is due to our genes and the damage we cause ourselves through bad habits, including how we eat. In this article, we are going to look at some key, at home benefactors to anti-aging from the inside-out.
Most people are aware that antioxidants can reduce free radical damage and can slow the aging process down. Think of good, healthy food that will serve you. If you are like most people, one of the first things that will come to mind is eating foods high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. (Many vitamins and minerals double as antioxidants.)

“Adam and Eve ate the first vitamins, including the package.” ~E.R. Squibb

In this article, we are going to look at some key vitamins and minerals along with Omega-3 fatty acids and Coenzyme Q10 to see how they impact our skin.

Vitamins

Vitamin A -

Maintains and repairs skin cells.

Reduces wrinkles.

Helps our skin retain water and form new skin cells.

Is good for healthy teeth, bones, soft tissue, and mucus membranes.

Helps with acne and eczema.

Vitamin B complex – Nourishes and protects the skin.

Biotin – often called Vitamin H it is actually a member of the B family.

Combats dryness and skin rashes.

Supports the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates.

B2 (Riboflavin)

Helps repair skin.

Protects against free radicals.

B3 (Niacin)

Helps with moisture retention.

Improves blood flow and circulation of the skin.

Vitamin C – Provides overall antioxidant protection. It also:

Repair sun damage.

Fades age spots.

Enhances synthesis of collagen which strengthens structural support and resilience of the skin.

Vitamin E -

Helps retain moisture in the skin.

Improves elasticity of skin.

Helps formation of red blood cells

Vitamin K -

Is an anti-inflammatory.

Helps with dark circles under the eye, rosacea, and sun damage.

Promotes strong bones.

Polyphenols – These are a type of antioxidant that slows wrinkles and fights free radicals. They are also an anti-inflammatory.

Minerals

Copper is the 3rd most abundant trace mineral in the body.

Helps restore your skin’s ability to heal.

Protects against free radicals.

Combines with iron to make red blood cells.

Helps with collagen and promotes consistent pigmentation.

Selenium is a trace mineral.

Prevents cellular damage.

Is an antioxidant and protects against free radicals.

Induces DNA repair.

Fights many cancers.

Zinc is the 24th most abundant element in the Earth.

Has a subtle astringent property.

Reduces acne.

Is required for synthesis of collagen.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids-

Helps keep our skin supple and young looking.

Strengthens the skin barrier keeping out harmful irritants.

Reduces acne.

Decreases skin inflammation.

Reduces cellulite.

Coenzyme Q10- CoQ10, as it is often called, is great for all around health. CoQ10 is produced by the human body and is necessary for the basic functioning of cells. As we get older, we often produce less CoQ10 and may need to supplement. Certain drugs, such as statins also reduce our CoQ10.

Water – Although water is not a vitamin or mineral, we must include it as something we need to do daily for our skin. Drinking pure water keeps the skin hydrated.

The impact of individual supplements is hard to study as the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in our food work synergistically for our body’s benefit. Also, do not be of the mindset that if a little helps, more would be better. Be aware that over-supplementation should be avoided as it can cause problems.

To do the best for your health and beauty, eat a well-balance diet of foods rich in antioxidants (or take a good, full spectrum supplement), avoid foods that are bad for your body and skin and eliminate the eight bad habits.

I love Meryl Streep’s quote when she said, “It’s bizarre that the produce manager is more important to my children’s health than the pediatrician.”

Acnes are among the most common and highly problematic aliments found these days. It would not be wrong to address acne as a bad skin condition rather than an ailment or disease. Markets are full of remedies that claim to be best for curing and preventing acnes but hardly any of them works well especially in the severe conditions. Laser Skin treatment is one of the most popular and the only resort for those who wish to cure acnes and wish to get back there smooth skin. Laser Skin has many procedures included and all have proved to be highly effective.

Laser resurfacing techniques are mostly used to restore smooth skin that has got damaged as a result of acne or any other skin ailments. The condition of the skin helps in determining the kind of procedure to be used on any patient. There are various other methods that are comparatively more costly and invasive which are used for severe cases, no doubt these methods are highly complicated and require more time for recovery.

It is best to consult a good skin doctor so that he can select the correct method and treatment for you after examining your condition. It is the duty of a dermatologist to decide if you need Laser Skin treatment initially or something else will work out. But a doctor can only tell anything after carefully examining your skin condition.

One of the most common used techniques in Laser Skin treatment is blue light therapy. In this method a blue light is used to destroy the acne and the effect is enhanced by using a low intensity red light. This is slow but painless procedure where in several sessions are required to complete the therapy effectively. Being painless, this kind of laser skin treatment is highly attractive for patients who don’t mind coming to the doctor for several sessions.

Yet another technique in Laser Skin treatment that is common too is named as photodynamic therapy. In this procedure too doctor makes use of light along with some topical medications. In this procedure the medications are used have a photosensitizing effect that is used to enhance the effect of the light on the skin for the added therapeutic effect. It too requires multiple sessions to work effectively and helps in eliminate the acne. The best part of laser skin treatment is that this technique is helpful in removing dead skin cells and eliminating the acne and scars from the deeper layers of skin which makes room for smooth skin to grow.

It’s true that people who suffer from acnes are desperate to find solutions and are ready to do anything to get rid of acnes. No doubt, you will find hundreds of cures and products that are advertised as wonder drugs but fail to live up to user’s expectations. Laser Skin is a kind of treatment that gives high results in comparison to other cures. The laser skin treatment has emerged as most effective solution even for the severe cases. The best part of this treatment is that it eliminates acnes completely. The painless procedures are mostly used because the patients are not scared of any pain and the results are visible after first session. What else would a patient want!
